<p>This entry represents the aggregative adherence fimbria I (AAF/I), which is a plasmid-encoded fimbrial adhesin. AAF/I is involved in the adherence of enteroaggregative <taxon tax_id="562">Escherichia coli</taxon> (EAEC) to HEp-2 cells [<cite idref="PUB00045997"/>].
